SHOWSCIENCE 2022

SHOWSCIENCE 2022

ShowScience is back

After 2 years of pandemic, we are proud to finally announce the ShowScience conference which will be held in Geneva from 5th to 10th July. To mark this return, the conference is this year coupled with the Science Me show competition, which will take place on Saturday 9th and 10th of July during the “Nuit de la science”, a science festival organized by the city of Geneva.

The annual conference of the EuroScienceFun network, ShowScience, aims to bring together groups involved in science outreach all around Europe.

This 5-day conference offers participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices to improve their activities.

The conference will consist of plenary sessions, workshops, discussion, and training sessions. It will close with a common show during the “Night of Science”, in parallel with the Science Me show competition. We strongly encourage you to participate in both activities!

Tourist information

The University of Geneva is in the heart of the city, spread over many sites. Within the Faculty of Sciences, the Physics Section is located on the banks of the river “Arve”, in the Baths district, a few steps from the Plainpalais plain, made famous by Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein”, the Place des Bastions and the old town of Geneva.

The Baths district is one of the most dynamic in Geneva, with numerous art galleries, museums, theaters, and concert halls. It is an extremely lively area, both during the day and in the evening. The nightlife makes it a very popular area for students with many restaurants and bars in the area.

Well placed in the heart of international Geneva, the Physics Section and UNIGE benefit from the proximity of the Cornavin and Eaux-vives railway stations, which allow easy access to neighbouring France and most major cities and foreign capitals within a few hours. Although Geneva is a small city, it benefits from a well-served international airport that facilitates the development and growth of our international activities.
